Artist/Client Contract
Thank you for booking with Cupid Tattoos! I'm excited for you to collect my art!
Please understand that tattooing is not just a job for me; it is my passion. I want you to know that I take our appointment(s) very seriously and will ensure you have a comfortable experience.
Below you will find terms for booking. By sending the deposit, you agree to the statements below. Placing a deposit is entering a contract with me, CupidTattoos, so please be sure before sending.
A nonrefundable deposit is collected at booking to secure your appointment. It is applied to the total cost of your tattoo. Deposit is nonrefundable even in the event of a cancelation/reschedule. (Travel/House calls require a deposit of half the amount of the total price of the tattoo due to travel costs).
Remaining payment will be collected prior to the beginning of your session via cash or zelle.
Please NO guests/children, as it is crucial to avoid disruptions during the tattoo process.
NO ALCOHOL allowed in the tattoo studio as we welcome a drug free environment.
Cancellation/no-show/late show (more than 30 min) will result in the forfeit of the deposit. A new deposit will be required to reschedule one time only.
Due to copyright reasons, I do not copy other artists work as reference for tattoos—however, I can alter the design, using it as a reference to make it my own while keeping the same concept.
No reschedules within (1) week of the set appointment date.
If you tap out or experience excessive twitching during your session that does not allow me to complete the tattoo, an additional charge of $150-$400 will be applied to book a second appt due to use of new materials depending on the time needed to finish the remainder of your tattoo.
Please be sure my style of tattoos resonates with you before booking.
A draft of the tattoo will be started AFTER the deposit has been sent. I do not draw drafts/samples before the deposit is received.
Changes/alterations to design may be accepted (1) week prior to the tattoo appointment date but will not be accepted if they change the design more than 30%.
I usually start the drawing a week before the appointment or even the day of (if they are smaller tattoos as they're easy to draw up). If you'd like to see the design ahead of time, please let me know ahead of time and we can schedule for you to walk in and view the design. I do not send photos of the design over messages due to copyright.
Touch ups are free within 45 days (unless they are hand/finger/foot tattoos +$30).
By submitting your deposit, you acknowledge and accept any and all risks associated with getting a tattoo not mentioned. A waiver will be signed by the client prior to start of the session.
Preparing for your Tattoo
To ensure a smooth experience, please follow the following instructions before your tattoo.
EAT A GOOD MEAL BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT, BE HYDRATED AND WELL RESTED. You risk passing out during your tattoo if you do not follow these instructions. Trust me, it can happen to you.
NO DRINKING ALCOHOL the day before your tattoo or during your appointment. Your skin may swell easily, and the tattoo may not heal properly.
Do not apply numbing cream without advising me first. You may have a reaction prior to your appointment & I won't be able to tattoo the area.
Please notify me of any health or allergy issues in advance.
It's a good idea to bring headphones, snacks (bring some for me too lol) and a blanket/sweater.
Wear the correct clothes for your tattoo if it will be in an area that clothes may get in the way and be stained with ink. It helps to bring a zip-up sweater if you’re getting a back piece. All black clothing will help me take a really great photo of your tattoo after.
It helps if you start to lotion the area a week ahead of time but don't apply any the day of your appt.
Do not make any plans the day of your tattoo so I can take my time and give you my best work. It takes time to draw, stencil, place your tattoo and actually tattoo it.
Aftercare
HEALING PROCESS:
Tattoo healing timeframe is around 3-4 weeks.
The day after your appointment, your tattoo will feel like a bad sunburn.
Remember that your tattoo is an open wound and after about a week it will begin to scab/peel just as a scrape on your knee would.
DO NOT PICK the scab/scratch or your tattoo will fade in that spot.
Keep your tattoo out of the sun and do not soak in water (pool/jacuzzi/etc) for the healing timeframe or longer to prevent infection/fading of your tattoo.
No gym for 5 days after your tattoo. There are germs at the gym and you can risk infection.
Moisturize your tattoo with lotion forever even after it is fully healed to maintain it looking fresh.
CLEANING/MOISTURIZING:
Using clean hands, gently wash (2) times a day with non-scented antibacterial soap
(ex: Dial Hand Soap) and lukewarm water. Don't scratch/scrub.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
After cleaning your tattoo, apply a light layer of Aquaphor or A&D ointment. Overwhelming the tattoo with too much ointment may clog the pores and can cause infection.
You can increase the amount of ointment as your tattoo begins to peel so it doesn't become dry.
